Toastmasters Presidents Distinguished Club Award

Toastmasters clubs that achieve all 10 of the Distinguished Club Program (DCP) goals receive the Toastmasters Presidents Distinguished Club Award.

Toastmasters Victoria Quay is one of 36 Clubs (of approximately 18,000 Clubs worldwide) to have achieved this award every year since records started in 2004.

In Australia there are 7 other Clubs that have achieved the same. They are all in New South Wales. On a population basis, this is an extraordinary result.

What is the DCP?

Toastmasters International Clubs are encouraged to work towards Awards in the Distinguished Club Program (DCP). There are 10 Goals which cover member speaking and leadership awards, active membership, officer attendance at training sessions and the lodgement of administration returns.

Clubs which achieve 9 or 10 of the DCP Goals receive the Presidents Distinguished Award.

In the Toastmaster year 2003/04 World Headquarters completed the digitisation of its records and made it possible for Toastmaster Mike Raffety in the USA to search through the records and locate those clubs in the world which had achieved Presidents Distinguished Club status. Every year since then he has published a list of those original June 30 2004 Presidents Distinguished Clubs which have maintained an unbroken record of all 10 Goals achieved. This is a high standard to maintain.
The original list he made in 2007 of over 80 clubs is now down to 41 at July 2017.

In the current year, 2017/18 we have already reached our ten Goals so we will be there again in July 2018.
