Speechcraft at Victoria Quay in July

Enhance your skills at Speechcraft

We are conducting a Speechcraft course at the Fremantle Bowling Club from Thursday, July 02 to to July 14, 2014.  David Nicholas is coordinating the course and needs help to make it run efficiently.

What’s in it for you?

Victoria Quay members take part as trainers.  We train the Speechcrafters.

Research and experience from trainers has established that the trainers get more value in their personal skills than the participants being trained.  There are several reasons for this, but the important consequence is

Trainers get the benefit of a Speechcraft course without paying for it !!

What is Speechcraft?

Speechcraft is a short, intensive training course for people who want to improve their public speaking skills.  Yes, it sounds like Victoria Quay, except that it runs for only 6 sessions, whereas VQ members get their benefit over the long term.

The sessions are organised in a very similar way to our ordinary meetings, except that after the first introductory session, the Speechcrafters give a prepared speech each session and take part in Table Topics each session.  That’s why we need a lot of trainers to help with their preparation for the next session and to evaluate their efforts this session.

It counts as a Victoria Quay Overflow Meeting

Of course our regular Wednesday night meetings will continue.  Last year we ran quite a few Thursday evening sessions as an Overflow to provide extra opportunities for our many members.

This is going to function as an equivalent for our Overflow meetings, so of course it will count towards our Club Awards.

How do you take advantage of this opportunity?
