Speechcraft at Karawara
Session 1, Oct 11, 2014
Victoria Quay members, with the help of members from 3 other clubs, started a new Speechcraft Course at the George Burnett Centre in Karawara. There were 7 Speechcrafters and 10 Trainers there for the first session.
The standard Agenda
We used the standard agenda we have developed since our first course we gave in Fremantle in June 1998. Each Speechcrafter pairs off with a Trainer to prepare for their first presentation, where each partner introduces the other. I gave a Workshop on Basic Speaking Skills and then they made their first presentation.
Following that, Marianne Law gave them another chance to speak with Table Topics. Tina gave helpful feedback in the Evaluation.
Afternoon tea of course
Of course, and then Greg Lynn presented a Workshop on Evaluation before Catherine – from Armadale Toastmasters – gave a 3 minute Icebreaker which was evaluated by Sunil.

David distributed a Speechcraft Manual to each of the Speechcrafters and urged them to use it. Then there was a noisy productive time as the Speechcrafters worked on preparing their Icebreaker speeches with the help of their partner Trainers. Here they all are.

Looks like everyone involved in that course had a whole lot of fun.
Well done everybody.
Good luck
