Meal Meeting

What’s a Meal Meeting?

KeithTM
It’s the brainchild of Keith Hutchings.  He put it to President Dean and VP Education Peter a month ago and got the go ahead.  He was Toastmaster for Meeting #1062 and steered us through three stages of the meeting.  In each stage six members gave a 3 minute speech in which they spoke about the food they had prepared for the meeting.  At the end of each stage we sampled their offerings.  It was a wonderful meeting and we had wonderful food.

Look at the display below  On the left you will read a list of the members who presented speeches about their food and a brief statement of what it was.

To the right you will see a Rotator which shows them making their descriptions.  Some of them picked up the container and exhibited it.

We have had previous meetings which had wonderful meals at the end, but this is the first in this innovative format.  It wont be the last.

It was a meeting extraordinaire, where we learnt more about each other and about foods from other countries, other times and were fortunate enough to get a full taste of every different dish. We want to do it again. Nothing more congenial and more informative than this kind of meeting.
